This place is awesome! The staff is super friendly, and their food and drink is unique and fabulous. We tried their peel apart bread with hummus dip and it blew. my. mind. The bread was so fluffy and soft and the dipping flavors were rich and flavorful. Their happy hour includes frozen cocktail drinks which are so so yummy. I'd never tried a frozen spicy watermelon cocktail mix but their "Melon con Chile" was refreshing, and hit the spot! Super unique. They have great outdoor seating, and their location is prime. I highly recommend adding this place to your list if you're in the Marina District or visiting SF!

The burger was the star -- best in the city so far in our hunt. Cocktails are great too. The fries with the burger are just ok. I would not order anything else next time, and maybe swap out the regular fries for crispy onions. Poke was terrible, so salty and small. Corn soup was good. But overall, look what's going on at every other table and stick to ordering what they're known for! Will be on our rotation

I recently dined at Causwells in the Marina neighborhood with a large party of 10, including 2 kids under 3. Making reservations online was super easy, and when additional guests joined, the person over the phone was very accommodating in modifying our reservation from 8 to 10 people. Although less than half of our party arrived on time, the host was patient and waited for the rest to arrive. Due to our large group, we were seated in the parklet, which was well-sheltered from the wind. The restaurant offered a variety of appetizers and kids' meal choices. While there were fewer options for adults, everyone enjoyed their meals, with good choices for both vegans and meat-eaters. The cocktails and mocktails were a hit, providing a great mix for everyone. The service was fine, and we had no complaints about the wait time for drinks and food. A funny note: during my last visit, they only had aioli as a condiment, but now they offer both aioli and ranch, which is a nice improvement. Overall, Causwells is a great spot to come back to.

Causwells is a perfect week night meal, or anytime you are craving a burger. I got the chicken burger but my partner got the regular beef burger & I thought that was a bit better, but both are great! These burgers are all SO tasty, & the onion strings are 5 stars on their own! I put the onion strings in my burgers at Causwells, & it hits the spot. I would say this is the best burger I have had in SF! The service was fast when I went but I can see how the place can get very busy on weekends at peak times! There are plenty of tables inside & they have an outdoor parklet as well.

Causwells offers a charming ambiance that sets a cozy backdrop for a casual dining experience. The decor is quaint and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating, allowing us to stay even after settling the check. While the Americana burger was undeniably good, I couldn't help but feel it fell short of the hype. The patty was juicy and cooked just right, but the sauce, which I had high hopes for, didn't quite deliver the punch I expected. The ingredients were fresh, and the burger overall was satisfying, but it didn't quite reach the level of hype I anticipated based on reviews.

I've been here before but forgot to post a review, so I was so thrilled when I got to return with my uncle and friends last night. If you're a burger person, do yourself a favor and indulge in the Americana Burger--this burger is culture incarnate from look and feel to its juicy taste. It is authentic a burger as they come with all the fixings, right down to the American cheese and sesame seed bun. I wish I had gotten I picture, but u had to dig in as soon as it came! I couldn't resist. Their cocktails are just as good: whether you're looking for a classic martini or something fun and creative. This restaurant on chestnut is cute both inside and out, and has wonderful, speedy service which is absolutely a god send when you're hungry for a late night dinner. I was happy to catch up and indulge, chatting over a bottle of wine long after our burgers and the side of onion strings (yum) were finished.

"Why is the burger $19.99 on the menu, instead of $20?" is the first thing we asked our waiter. "Because the chef absolutely refused to sell a $20 burger" was his reply Given that some burgers in the city are now over $30 (we're looking at you, Nopa ), we appreciated the cheeky way to try and keep prices affordable. All the same, the burger was worth every cent we paid! The flavors were balanced, meat high quality, and service timely. The real highlight was the side of crispy onion strings. Wow! They were unlike any other battered onion I've had before; incredibly light and crispy and not at all overpowering on the onion flavor (you can still kiss your cutie after eating these!). They were served in a massive HEAP with more than enough to share with another. The restaurant was very sophisticated with a modern art-deco atmosphere (peep the cool peacocks in the wallpaper!). Would be a cute place to grab a drink, or to sit outside on a warm night while all the shoppers walk around Chestnut Street. Will be coming by here again soon!

Causwells became one of our favorite places in SF. Food: We ordered the seared octopus 9/10, the fancy pants burger 10/10, crispy chicken sandwich 9/10, and the Americana burger 9/10. Drinks: We also ordered hazy IPA and the Jin Julep. Service was excellent. Parking can be a bit of a headache, but this place is worth it. Indoor and outdoor seating available. I highly recommend you make reservations as this place gets busy. The restroom is very cute!
